I imagine you didn’t have to think too far with that title, unless of course you are on that table where it’s just you and a bottle of red wine with Netflix for company.
One night of romance accompanied by after-hours curriculum activities. All i wanna know is who started it? Don’t tell me the Saint Valentine story, because that narrative is of no relevance to the modern tradition of celebrating February 14th, that i can tell you. No cap.
This post is a shout out to all my single ladies and gents, if you got a bae, read and share to your single friends. I’m gong to share some tips on how to survive the RED day without feeling melancholic.
Rule #1, DON’T GO CALLING YOUR EX!!!! DO NOT DO IT!! I imagine your friends who are dating are oohing and aahing at their gifts, don’t go calling riddance back ‘cuz you was feeling lonely. Dial 911 instead! i guarantee you will definitely question your actions two days after should you ring them up for a valentine booty call.
Rule #2, REDIRECT YOUR FEELINGS. It isn’t just your other half who should be getting all the love. Don’t forget your family and fellow single friends. You will be surprised at the gifts you will get in returns, if you extend the box of love first. Choose this time to show them how much you love them. I guarantee chicken buckets delivery at their workplace will get them professing undying love to you. Hand written love notes to your annoying siblings works like dynamite. TRY IT!!
Rule #3,CHECKOUT YOUR DMS. If at this point, you are still feeling that hole, longing for someone to cuddle, smooch , do pillow fights, i suggest you sieve through those DMS you have been too proud to reply. Don’t look at me, it’s on you. Why would you let those cute mature ripped bods be left on read for such a long time?! TikTok has given the anthem for this year’s valentine, be humble, go through those DMs and pick yours.
Rule #4, PAMPER YOURSELF. I ultimately recommend this. Have you seen the variety that Bath and Body Works offer? you could drown yourself in such luxe and forget the need for a beau. Cook yourself a meal, calories don’t count on Valentine’s day. Pour yourself some bubbly, or red wine . Prop your legs and relax, grab a book. No beau doesn’t mean you should get the blues.
Enjoy this day for yourself. Love yourself like only you know how to.
Cheers.
